Fans must content themselves by watching the pool matches during the Southeast Asian Games, a biennial multi-sport event participated by athletes from Southeast Asia.  

The Philippines and Taiwan are the powerhouses in billiards, along with Germany, Spain, and the United States, and the Philippines has the distinction of being the country with the most World Cup of Pool titles. Several Filipino players won the World Pool Championships and the (prestigious) US Open Pool Championship.

And Matchroom, the organizer behind the most prestigious pool tournaments around the world, will launch the Efren Reyes Cup this October.
