Creamline Cool Smashers superstar Jema Galanza once again showcased her prowess as one of the greatest players in the history of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL). Her exceptional performance on Tuesday, December 3, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum led her team to a commanding 25-22, 25-20, 30-32, 25-20 victory over the Choco Mucho Flying Titans.
Galanza, who missed their previous match against Choco Mucho four months ago, returned with a vengeance. She delivered an incredible game-high 24 points, alongside 17 receptions and nine digs, in front of an electrified crowd of 9,951 fans, most of whom were rooting for the Cool Smashers.
After the match, Sisi Rondina, star of the Flying Titans and Galanza's teammate on the Alas Pilipinas national team, couldn’t help but sing praises for the composure and brilliance that Galanza brings to the game.
In her post-game interview, Rondina highlighted Galanza’s ability to stay calm under pressure, describing it as one of her most admirable traits.
“Jema ‘yan eh, syempre Jema ‘yan. Alam ko kung paano siya maglaro and syempre nakasama ko rin siya sa Alas. Grabe ‘yung composure niya and doon talaga ako tumitingala sa kanya kasi grabe siya magdala rin ng team. Napakakalmado and syempre gawa, gawa talaga siya,” Rondina shared.

For Rondina, the game also marked a personal milestone in her recovery journey. After dealing with persistent fatigue and knee issues, she is gradually regaining her form and confidence on the court.
“Personally naman, masaya ako kasi nakakabalik na rin paunti-unti,” she added, noting how the game provided a stepping stone toward her goal of returning to peak performance.
With this victory, Creamline solidified their reputation as the team to beat. They remain undefeated in their quest for a fifth straight PVL Conference title. The Cool Smashers aim to close the year on a high note with a perfect 4-0 record when they face the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles on Thursday, December 12, at the Philsports Arena.
Choco Mucho, on the other hand, will look to regroup and bounce back from the loss. Their next challenge is against the Farm Fresh Foxies, also on December 12, at the same venue.
